Kenneth is my name. I studied music and played the piano in the Selangor Institute of Music (SIM) years ago under the guidance of Miss Tang and Miss Yeoh. After many memorable years of music appreciation, I subsequently left overseas to pursue my tertiary education. The invaluable lessons and experiences I received during my time in SIM had left me with a love and understanding of music. Happily, I was able to share both with my daughter, Sophie many years later when at the age of 7, she was able to successfully perform by playing the piano and singing at a concert in Ireland. Music is a gift from my parents that has always been a source of joy in my life. My education with SIM has ensured that I am able to pass on this special gift to my children and guide them along in their first steps in exploring this wonderful world of music.

I have been sending my daughter to SIM for many years and I appreciate the amazing dedication and commitment that the centre has in nurturing my daughter’s love for piano. Sarah’s current piano teacher CK has been very kind and patient and has helped to inspire my daughter to be more disciplined and focused. These are valuable life skills which are transferable for her future.

I also enjoy the “Play for Each Other” sessions which provides a platform for students to build their confidence by playing in front of a supportive audience. I am assured of the teaching quality that is overseen by the owner and principal and the great service provided by the staff here.

I look forward to seeing Sarah grow with the centre in her musical journey as well. Thank you very much for all the guidance you have provided.

My son has been with SIM in the Kindermusik program since he was 7mo until 6yo. It has provided many happy childhood memories for him while helping him with development and growth over the years. The program has also given us parents family bonding activity ideas , and we look forward to the class every week. The educators were encouraging, positive and helpful too. SIM always cared about the children and is very supportive with the parents too. Thank you SIM for providing us with such great memories!

Both my daughters Chen Ginn and Chen Qinn have been learning music at SIM MUSIC for 13 and 10 years respectively. They joined the Kindermusik at SIM program at the age of 1! Looking back, I found that this experience has helped them a lot in their cognitive development and social skills. After they have completed the Kindermusik at SIM program, they continued learning piano with Mrs Teoh (their 1st Kindermusik teacher). I feel that learning to play the piano have improved their discipline and given them the confidence when they participate in various other activities. The girls enjoy their music journey so much with SIM! Thank you very much SIM!

I have been a student at SIM for more than 10 years. My piano teacher, Mrs. Teoh is methodical in her teaching to ensure that I learned properly. She also is very patient with me and understanding me while making sure I stay disciplined.

Chen Qinn 13 years old piano student

I completed my legal studies in the UK and am a qualified lawyer. The journey to becoming a lawyer has never been easy but music has helped me maintain a positive mindset during law school, bar school and legal practice. I joined Kindermusik at SIM (SIM Music) when I was 4 years old during which I was involved in musical activities including playing the percussion and fun singing with other children. This helped me develop a musical and rhythmic mind as a very young boy. At SIM Music, I also learned to play the violin and piano, and was exposed to other varieties of instruments at a very young age. This helped me develop a critical and creative mind which I have been able to apply throughout my academic studies and legal career. Thanks to SIM Music, which provided me with a strong musical foundation, I picked up singing and playing the guitar at a later stage of my life. This provided me with an avenue to relax and de-stress throughout my legal studies and practice. Thank you for all the happy childhood memories.

Through enrolling our kids into SIM Music 's Kindermusik classes, we get to realise the power of learning through music. We signed up for all our 3 children to attend Kindermusik at SIM classes since they were 6 months old. In addition to exposing them to the benefits of music, our bonding with our children is further strengthened from attending the music classes with them and applying the skills we learnt in our everyday routine. We are amazed to see they can now communicate via singing and dancing and are surprised to see their creativity in changing the lyrics of songs into their favourite themes and to perform confidently to us.  We trust that our kids will grow up confidently, happily, and joyfully with the skills they have learnt from Kindermusik at SIM classes since young, and will be able to unlock more potentials in the near future.
